Thanks Bernard Fayd'Herbe (NOT!)

I missed Race 1 at the Country Course (Durbanville) on Wednesday, 3rd July. I wasn’t actually there, but in a Tote not a million miles from this picturesque venue. You might say I was in Mr Fayd’Herbes' neighbourhood, but these geographic vagaries are of little consequence as he not only disappointed this [poor] smallpunter but, surely, many more punters across the country.

He apparently romped home on the 7/10 favourite in Race 1, but when asked to do the same in Race 3 at roughly the same odds he failed miserably.
As I watched in disbelief all my approx. R50.00 worth of  assorted ‘all-to-come’ bets, starting with this hapless jocks odds-on favourite NOT even placing, crashed out! I’m sure I heard our local commentator, Ravaughn Smit, shouting about Chesapeake being pulled/falling backwards, or words to that effect..? What!?
Sure, a small money loss to some punters, but not me when a 13/20 cannot even place what chance do we stand of fairness and consistency in this sport that is already struggling to keep its customers. If this horse was just beaten by a short-head into second  by the 2nd or 3rd favourites I wouldn’t be venting so vociferously and would, like most, put it down one of those things that happen in racing.
To make [my personal] matters worse the rest of my ‘all-to-come’ predictions came in on 3 of my 4 tickets!? Bernard and Co. collect, the average punter doesn't!
Thanks mate.
