I see the meeting at Clairwood on Saturday was a real 'Dog Fest'!
Is anyone winning anything on these sorts of meetings, which seem to have been very prevalent during our long, wet, miserable Winter!?
If you haven't looked to closely or were too scared here are some howlers from this 10 race meeting:
- 2 favourites out of 10 win! Not a train smash some of you more optimistic punters might say, but believe me the second or third faves weren't winning either if you see some of the WIN dividends: (R15, R11, R92, R18, R22, R44 etc..?)
- Three Pick-3 carry overs
- A couple of QT carry overs
- A R30k, two R68k and a R161k Quartets!
- JP- R27,900
- PA- R4,049
- P6- R290,432
- etc, etc...
Sympathies for anyone who 'took a bath' on the day, I stayed away, thank goodness!
Now where's that guy that once said 'I must stop rubbishing the industry' or 'I'm negative'?
Give me a break buddy, you wanna tell me (us) you're collecting on local RACING at the moment?
Somehow I think NOT, but if you are, God/Mohammed bless you and please send some of it our way..?

THIS DEDICATED HORSE RACING BLOG WAS STARTED IN 2012 BECAUSE OF DODGY RESULTS? IN 2013 THINGS HAVE GOT WORSE WITH SOME HORRENDOUS PAY OUTS. ONE NEED NOT STUDY FORM ANY MORE, PLAYING LOTTO-LIKE-LUCKY NUMBERS WILL BRING MORE LUCK. PUNTERS ARE WALKING AWAY! THE WORST THING IS THAT OUR RACING ‘BOFFINS’ LIKE TRAINERS, JOCKEYS AND WORST OF ALL, JOURNALISTS & FORUMS, TALK A GOOD GAME BEFORE, BUT NO ONE HAS ANYTHING TO SAY AFTER THE FACT, LIKE WHEN AN ENTIRE MEETING HAS "BOMBED"!

WHY BOTHER? Arlington, feature race last Friday!
I hope this 'copy & paste works onto a Blog, but please see my little table below.
With not knowing what to pick for almost this entire winter season I have being putting my punting on the back burner recently, if only 'just to feel like winning, when I'm not playing; aka- losing!'
So late on Friday I saunter into my local Tote, look at the local results for the day so far, and decide to bet my customary small punt on the 'feature' race. Results that far had been mostly non-favourites and I figured the fave in this one could do it considering it's form, C & D and all that sort of stuff...
Boy, was I wrong! Because it was a small field the TRI & QT are not massive, but can anyone please tell me where that # 7 came from!? The 15/20- On favourite ran stone last and the first four past the post have only got one third and one fourth in their last 16 combined runs!!!???
I may seem to have all the time in the world doing these sort of blog postings, but I certainly do NOT have the time or inclination to try and sort out RUBBISH like this- can anyone please explain?
I had taken a win bet to (hopefully) win the R1.50/1.60 odd on the # 2 (F), and then backed that up with a boxed 5 horse QT hoping that if the fave did falter I would get a nice 30% with 2 roughies I put in. Suffice to say, 3 roughies came in (I did not have the 7!) and once again this smallpunter was off to the pub to rather spend it on something rewarding then this KAK that never seems to offer any reward! FYI, that # 2 F had not been worse than 1,2, or 3 in its last seven starts!
Happy braaing boys!

12 Day old posting- sorry, connection problems!
THIS PIECE BELOW WAS WRITTEN ABOUT 12 DAYS AGO. (On
Monday, 10/09/12). I have had connection problems- apologies. Next angry outburst will be much sooner, I
promise, after those SKELMS (‘crooks’ to the English chaps out there) took my all
money in just one race (the so-called feature) at Arlington yesterday!
The last two weeks (would’ve been last week in AUG. and first in SEPT.) have delivered mostly average PA payouts with one or two exceptions in the R2-3 grand region, which I still considers ‘big’ for a PA. The one Friday at Fairview had a very big PA dividend of approx. R6400 which was R900 odd Rand more than that days Jackpot! (One should maybe give those jackpots ago? God knows, I still cannot pick 7 place horses in a row with anything resembling success, maybe 4 winners is an easier option..?)
That Saturday’s PA at Kenilworth (would’ve been the one two weeks ago-08 SEPT).) did raise that once-or-twice-a-month-type question (seems to be happening more often these days though..?) when Felix’s ride on the favourite (Horse was Soul Sacrifice) in the first leg ran-in in a resounding 4th place, at once throwing me and 5 guys around me in my local Tote OUT of that days’ PA! My perm had been R48.00, but was I wrong, fellow punters, in making that my one banker & assuming that it could run in the top 3 considering its form and the interest in the animal? I don’t think so!
That PA paid +/- R2100 mostly because of that first leg. As a matter of interest if it did place I would’ve got a percentage (albeit it a smaller dividend, I know!) and doubled up a few times! Still, no sour grapes on my part. Me, never..?
The most interesting comparisons one can draw since my last posting were I opined about “how few winning tickets” there are with big PA payouts (24 and 12 spring to mind on two recent occasions); is that how many there are with the really small PA’s. Two in recent weeks paid R13.90 to 52 thousand tickets and the other about R11.00 to a massive 80+ thousand ‘lucky’ punters! ( I use the term lucky with just a hint of “I’m sorry for you buddies”-type sarcasm). I dare say if I played I probably would’ve missed these two miniscule PA’s as well, like I always do!
I couldn’t hit a cow in the.... with a banjo! (You know what I mean?)
As a smallpunter I wouldn’t be in that league, but I imagine playing a R348 perm and the payout is only eleven bucks can also be fairly annoying! This punter would be happy with constant R150-300 type PA pay outs that I could ‘attempt’ to hit with 10, 15 or 20 Rand straight line. Should we ask them at racing HQ to fix it? They seem good at that sort of thing..?
Having said that I’d also like to win the 5 numbers and the bonus on the Lotto as well- see, not greedy me, just something ‘nice’ back for all the money I (we) put into this respective pastimes would be nice occasionally. (Yes, even for a small punter, the losses add up!?)
Take care and good luck this weekend lads!
Summertime has GOT to be better for us ‘ordinary Joes’...
